Salary and Financial Benefits

The salary for PGY4 Fellows is $85,201.60

Program covers the cost of obtaining a training license.

Fellows receive a one-time stipend of $4000 issued as a taxable lump sum payment through the payroll system. Stipend can be used at discretion of fellow for educational expenses (technology purchases, exam fees, relocation expenses, etc.).

Benefits

Medical and Dental

Multiple insurance plans offered for fellows and their families with nominal cost. Vision and dental coverage provided for additional cost.
 
Medications provided at cost in the hospital pharmacy for fellows and their families.

Disability

Long Term Disability: A disability policy, paying 60% percent of the resident’s salary after 90 days of disability, is provided.
Short Term Disability: Compensation for a personal serious illness is provided following an absence of seven consecutive days.

Medical Leave of Absence benefits: Per current policy, eligibility starts on day one of employment.

Continuing Medical Education

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital provides $4,000 for continuing medical education (CME). Fellows are provided with five days of educational leave for attendance at local, regional, or national conferences during the year, or to utilize for interviewing purposes.
In addition, LG Health provides reimbursement for membership in two specialty-specific organizations, as well as a current copy of the Geriatrics Review Syllabus.

Vacation and Holidays

We offer 21 days of paid time off, plus eight holidays including New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

Malpractice Insurance

Malpractice insurance is provided by the hospital for all work performed as part of the teaching program.

Life Insurance

Term life insurance is provided at one time the annual salary, effective immediately.

Meals

Meals are available in the hospital and outpatient pavilion cafeteria at employee prices (20% off regular price).
