SPORTS MEDICINE FELLOWSHIP SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Fellows participate in many educational opportunities to enhance their sports medicine training.

Supplemental educational opportunities

Weekly sports medicine conference

Topics presented by experts in sports medicine and performance, orthopedics, physical therapy, pain management, cardiology, neurology, psychology, related to sports medicine.

Musculoskeletal ultrasound training

Introduction to ultrasound conference, virtual MSK radiology rounds, longitudinal program didactics, educational presentations by vendors.

Teaching opportunities

Fellows are given options to present at sports medicine conference(s), lead sports medicine workshops, give lectures to residents (physical exams, common conditions, PPEs, casting and splinting, concussions, injection techniques) and present at community events.

Research and scholarly activity

Fellows are required to complete at least one research or scholarly activity during fellowship year. They are encouraged to present at a national conference. Support is provided at the institutional level through Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s Research Institute. Time dedicated to research is provided.
